After you ship specimen sample

Results are generally available within 1-3 business days of receiving the sample.
Some samples may require additional processing time if the RNA yield is low. You will be notified if the sample will require more processing time.
For samples received on Fridays, results will be available Monday. If results are required over the weekend, please contact the lab to make arrangements.
An account will be created for you on the lab's secure results portal upon receipt of your first sample.
You will receive an email notification once the report is available on the portal.

Two barcode labels
One 1.2 mL tube containing 1 mL RNAlater Stabilization Solution
Small clear Biohazard bag
White cardboard box
FedEx Clinical Pak with prefilled return label

Instructions

Order MMDx test on Kashi Clinical Laboratories Portal (www.kashiportal.com) and print out test form
Stick the provided barcode labels on both the printed portal order form and the sample tube
Provide the labeled sample tube to site where the biopsy will be taken
Collect a minimum of 3- 5mm (kidney)/ 2 pieces of 1-2 mm (heart and lung) of biopsy sample. The sample should be immediately removed from the needle and placed in the labeled sample tube such that the biopsy tissue is completely submerged in RNAlater inside the tube
Please make sure the sample tube screw cap is fully tightened
Place the labeled tube in the provided small clear biohazard bag
Seal the bag
Place the biohazard bag and test order form printed from the portal inside the carboard box
Place the cardboard box into the provided FedEx Clinical Pak and seal according to the instructions on the Clinical Pak
The prefilled label is already on the FedEx Clinical Pak, follow shipping below

Shipping Options

Ideally: Ship samples to the laboratory immediately after collection at room temperature.

For samples that cannot be shipped immediately:

Refrigerate (4˚C) until shipping for a maximum of 6 days.
Ship overnight at room temperature.

For samples that must be stored longer than 6 days before shipping:

Refrigerate (4˚C) overnight.
NOTE: This must be done to allow the RNAlater® solution to penetrate the tissue.
Move sample to freezer (-20˚C).
Ship overnight at room temperature.
