Brian Matlock is a Senior Product Applications Specialist at Thermo Fisher Scientific. He specializes in the development of UV-Vis technology for applications in pharmaceuticals, biosciences, academia, and industry.
During his 15 years at Thermo Fisher, Matlock was primarily involved with Thermo Scientific™ NanoDrop™ product and applications development, showcasing his expertise in the intricacies of spectrophotometry and molecular biology. His contribution to this area enabled the success and proliferation of NanoDrop instruments across various laboratories globally.
Matlock’s proficiency in biotechnology, molecular biology, and spectroscopy, among other areas, has been honed not just during his tenure at Thermo Fisher, but also over eight years working as a scientist for various pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life sciences companies.
He graduated with a Master of Science (MS) degree in microbiology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2000. Matlock maintains membership in professional groups such as R&D Biopharma, Pharma and BioTech; Life Sciences Professionals; and Spectroscopy.
