Immunohistochemistry analysis of AKT2 showing staining in the cytoplasm of paraffin-embedded human kidney tissue (right) compared to a negative control without primary antibody (left). To expose target proteins, antigen retrieval was performed using 10 mM sodium citrate (pH 6.0), microwaved for 8-15 min. Following antigen retrieval, tissues were blocked in 3% H2O2-methanol for 15 min at room temperature, wa... View More {{ $ctrl.currentElement.advancedVerification.fullName }} validation info. Target Information

AKT2 is a phosphoinositide-dependent serine/threonine protein kinase that is enriched in insulin responsive tissues and has been implicated in the metabolic actions of the hormone. Akt is involved in many cellular signaling pathways and acts as a transducer of many functions initiated by growth factor receptors that activate phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI 3-kinase). Akt2 is amplified and overexpressed in some human cancers.
