Western blot analysis of Phospho-Rb pSer249/pThr252 in whole cell extracts of COLO 205 cells (lanes 1 and 2) using a Phospho-Rb pSer249/pThr252 Recombinant Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (Product # 710090) at a dilution of 2.5 µg/mL. To confirm specificity, competition was performed by preincubation with the phosphopeptide to inhibit antibody binding (lane 2). Results show a band at ~110kDa.

This antibody is predicted to react with mouse, rat and non-human primate based on sequence homology.
Recombinant rabbit polyclonal antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They are comprised of a selection of multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, providing the best of both worlds - the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity of monoclonal antibodies - all delivered with the consistency only found in a recombinant antibody. While functionally the same as a polyclonal antibody - recognizing multiple epitope sites on the target and producing higher detection sensitivity for low abundance targets - a recombinant rabbit polyclonal antibody has a known mixture of light and heavy chains. The exact population can be produced in every lot, circumventing the biological variability typically associated with polyclonal antibody production.
Target Information
Rb is a tumor suppressor nuclear phosphoprotein capable of binding to DNA. It is phosphorylated on serine and threonine, but not on tyrosine residues. It forms a complex with SV40 large T antigen, adenovirus E1A, and human papilloma virus-16 E. Rb protein may act by regulating transcription and loss of its function leads to uncontrolled cell growth. Aberrations in the RB gene have been implicated in cancers of breast, colon, prostate, kidney, nasopharynx, and leukemia.
