1,6-Hexanediol is used in polymer synthesis such as polyester, polyurethane and nylon. It is used as an intermediate to adhesives, acrylics and dyestuffs. Further, it is employed in gasoline refining and pharmaceutical production.

Applications
Le composé 1,6-hexanediol est utilisé dans la synthèse de polymères, comme le polyester, le polyuréthane et le nylon. Il est utilisé comme intermédiaire pour les adhésifs, les acryliques et les colorants. Il est également utilisé dans le raffinage de l’essence et la production pharmaceutique.

Solubilité
Soluble dans l’eau.

Remarques
Hygroscopique. Incompatible avec les chlorures d’acides, les anhydrides d’acides, les agents oxydants, les chloroformates et les agents réducteurs.
