CD71 Antibody (C371-1MG)
Antibody clone (T56/14) specificity was demonstrated by CRISPR-Cas9 mediated knockout of target protein. Loss of signal was observed for target protein in CD71 KO cells (blue histogram) compared to the control Cas9 cells (pink histogram) using CD71 antibody (T56/14). Yellow histogram represents staining with the isotype control. {KO}

Specificity: Clone T56/14 recognizes human CD71.
Endotoxin Level: ≤ 1.0 EU/mg as determined by the LAL method. Purity: >95% by SDS Page; ≥95% monomer by analytical SEC.
Product Preparation: Functional grade preclinical antibodies are manufactured in an animal free facility using only In vitro protein free cell culture techniques and are purified by a multi-step process including the use of protein A or G to assure extremely low levels of endotoxins, leachable protein A or aggregates.
Storage and Handling: Functional grade preclinical antibodies may be stored sterile as received at 2-8 C for up to one month. For longer term storage, aseptically aliquot in working volumes without diluting and store at -80 C. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles.
This antibody has been tested in the following applications: Western Blotting, Flow Cytometry.
Target Information
Cellular uptake of iron occurs via receptor-mediated endocytosis of ligand-occupied transferrin receptor into specialized endosomes. Endosomal acidification leads to iron release. The apotransferrin-receptor complex is then recycled to the cell surface with a return to neutral pH and the concomitant loss of affinity of apotransferrin for its receptor. Transferrin receptor is necessary for development of erythrocytes and the nervous system. Serum transferrin receptor (sTfR) is used as a means of detecting erythropoietin (EPO) misuse by athletes and as a diagnostic test for anemias resulting from a number of conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, pregnancy, irritable bowel syndrome and in HIV patients.
