During protein purification, is it typical for material to remain insoluble in 6M guanidinium lysis buffer?

It is not unusual for insoluble material to remain in the lysate. The expressed protein should be in the supernatant. Extremely insoluble proteins may be solubilized by including 0.1% sarkosyl (n-lauryl sarcosinate) in the lysis buffer.
