Rat anti Mouse CD205, clone NLDC-145 recognizes DEC-205, a approximately 205 kDa integral membrane glycoprotein expressed by mouse dendritic cells and thymic epithelial cells.
Target Information
CD205 (LY25, Lymphocyte Antigen 75) is an integral membrane glycoprotein involved in antigen uptake, trafficking and presentation that improves the induction of antigen-specific T cell immunity. CD205 is highly expressed by CD8+ dendritic cells (DCs) and also expressed at different levels by bone marrow Gr1+ cells, Langerhans cells, (BMDC) bone marrow derived DCs and thymic epithelial cells. CD205 acts as an endocytic receptor that directs captured antigens to the extracellular space towards a specialized antigen processing region. Further, CD205 also prompts the reduced proliferation of B lymphocytes. Diseases associated with CD205 dysfunction include pneumonic plague and lipid pneumonia.
