Target Information
The PLEKHG7 gene (Pleckstrin Homology and RhoGEF Domain Containing G7) encodes a protein that is a member of the Rho guanine nucleotide exchange factor (RhoGEF) family. This protein is involved in the regulation of the Rho family of GTPases, which play a critical role in multiple cellular processes including cytoskeletal organization, cell migration, and cell proliferation. The pleckstrin homology (PH) domain of PLEKHG7 allows it to interact with phosphoinositides, which helps localize the protein to cellular membranes where it can activate Rho GTPases. Dysregulation of PLEKHG7 has been implicated in certain cancers, highlighting its importance in cell signaling and cancer biology.
