Nkx6.1 Antibody (PA5-23070) in ICC/IF
Immunocytochemistry analysis of Nkx6.1 in INS-1 cells. Samples were incubated with Nkx6.1 polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-23070) using a dilution of 1:250 followed by DyLight 488 (green). Nuclei and alpha-tubulin were counterstained with DAPI (blue) and DyLight 550 (red). Image objective 40X.

Prior to immunostaining paraffin tissues, antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0) is recommended.
Target Information
NKX6.1 is a bi-functional transcription factor that has effects in both the central nervous system and in the pancreas. It has both expression and repression effects on genes, leading to the proper formation of motoneurons, oligodendrocytes, and insulin-secreting beta cells. It is known to interact with Pax6 and Pdx-1, probably at or near the 60 amino acid homeobox DNA-binding domain. Due to its obvious relationship to beta cells and CNS, NKX6.1 is becoming a more interesting target for therapies in diabetes and certain brain diseases.
