Western blot analysis of SLC19A1 in extracts of various cell lines. Samples were incubated with SLC19A1 Polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-88778) using a dilution of 1:3,000, followed by HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) at a dilution of 1:10,000. Lysates/proteins: 25 µg per lane. Blocking buffer: 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST. Detection: ECL Basic Kit. Exposure time: 90s.

Target Information
Transport of folate compounds into mammalian cells can occur via receptor-mediated or carrier-mediated mechanisms. A functional coordination between these 2 mechanisms has been proposed to be the method of folate uptake in certain cell types. Methotrexate (MTX) is an antifolate chemotherapeutic agent that is actively transported by the carrier-mediated uptake system. RFC1 plays a role in maintaining intracellular concentrations of folate.
