Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (86%), Rat (86%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-58357. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
The SEMA4G gene encodes semaphorin 4G, a member of the semaphorin protein family known for their roles in cellular guidance, signaling, and development. Semaphorin 4G is involved in axonal guidance, where it influences the direction and growth of neurons by interacting with receptor complexes such as plexins. This interaction is critical in neural development, contributing to the proper formation of neural circuits by ensuring that neurons connect accurately and functionally. Beyond its role in the nervous system, SEMA4G also participates in immune responses, where it modulates the activity and migration of immune cells, influencing processes like inflammation and immune surveillance. This protein's modulation of cell-to-cell communication and migration extends to its implications in cancer, where altered semaphorin signaling can impact tumor progression and metastasis through changes in cell adhesion and migration properties. Research into SEMA4G continues to investigate its precise mechanisms and interactions, providing insights into therapeutic opportunities in neural disorders and cancer.
