The ChargeSwitch™-Pro Plasmid Miniprep Kit generates high-quality plasmid DNA without the use of harsh or potentially interfering reagents, for better success in downstream applications.

To accomplish this, the ChargeSwitch™-Pro Kit provides:

ChargeSwitch™-Pro Plasmid Miniprep Kit is ideal for purifying plasmid DNA from 1-5 mL overnight bacterial cultures, yielding up to 20 μg of plasmid DNA.

How it works
The ChargeSwitch™ technology replaces the use of ethanol, chaotropic salts, or organic solvents for nucleic acid purification with a simple ion-exchange mechanism. At low pH values (less than 6.5) the ChargeSwitch™ surface ligand is positively charged and binds plasmid DNA. Raising the pH (greater than 8.5) neutralizes the charge and elutes the bound nucleic acid. The ChargeSwitch™ protocol retains the ease and familiarity of the common silica spin column protocol with a binding, washing, and elution step (Figure 1, Table 1), making adapting to the ChargeSwitch™ method effortless.

Better downstream results
DNA purified using the ChargeSwitch™-Pro Plasmid Miniprep Kit lacks potentially inhibitory compounds, improving DNA integrity for better downstream PCR performance (Figure 2). Expect to see improved cloning due to higher transformation efficiencies (Figure 3), faster restriction enzyme digestions (Figure 4), sequencing reads in excess 800 bp with Phred scores >20 (Figure 5), and a higher degree of supercoiling (Figure 6).

Contents and Storage:
The ChargeSwitch™-Pro Plasmid Miniprep Kit contains Miniprep Columns with Collection Tubes, Recovery Tubes, Resuspension Buffer, RNase A, Lysis Buffer, Precipitation Buffer, Wash Buffers 1 and 2, and Elution Buffer. Store at room temperature. Guaranteed stable for 6 months when properly stored.
