Description générale
• La fumonisine B2 est une mycotoxine de la fumonisine produite par le champignon Fusarium
•La fumonisine B2 est un analogue structurel de la fumonisine B1, mais elle est plus cytotoxique que B1 et peut inhiber la sphinganine-N-acétyltransférase (céramide synthase)
Applications
• Des études in vitro et in vivo ont montré que la fumonisine B2 peut induire l’apoptose
•Elle peut inhiber la biosynthèse des sphingolipides de novo
•Elle est également considérée comme un métabolite d’Aspergillus
•Elle montre une cytotoxicité contre un panel de sept lignées cellulaires d’hépatome de rat et une lignée cellulaire MDCK
• Elle induit la formation de nodules hépatocytes, un marqueur de l’initiation du cancer, chez les rats
