Antimony(III) fluoride is used as a reagent in inorganic and organofluorine chemistry. It acts as a fluorination reagent and electroplating agent. Further, it is used in the preparation of dye, pottery, porcelains, ceramic enamels and glazes. It is utilized in the preparation of freon.

Applications
Le trifluorure d’antimoine est utilisé comme réactif dans la chimie inorganique et organofluorée. Il fait office de réactif de fluoration et d’agent de galvanoplastie. Il est par ailleurs utilisé dans la préparation de colorants, la poterie, la porcelaine, la céramique émaillée et les glaçures. Il intervient également dans la préparation du fréon.

Solubilité
Soluble dans l’eau, le méthanol et l’acétone. Insoluble dans l’ammoniac.

Remarques
Sensible à l’humidité. Il est incompatible avec les acides, l’acide perchlorique, l’eau et les agents oxydants.
