Description

Rosolic acid is used as a pH indicator in the range from 5.0 to 6.8. It acts as an intermediate in the manufacturing dyes. It is involved in the activation of heme oxygenase and in the inhibition of DNA fragmentation. It finds application in the selective isolation of coliform bacteria.

Applications
L’acide rosolique est utilisé comme indicateur de pH dans la plage allant de 5,0 à6,8. Il agit comme intermédiaire dans la fabrication des colorants. Il est impliqué dans l’activation de l’hème oxygénase et dans l’inhibition de la fragmentation de l’ADN. Il est utilisé dans l’isolement sélectif des bactéries coliformes.

Solubilité
Soluble dans l’alcool, l’hydroxyde de sodium, l’hydroxyde de potassium et les acides forts. Insoluble dans l’eau.

Remarques
Incompatible avec les agents oxydants forts.
