1-Trimethylsilylmethanol is used as nucleophile to resolve the racemate obtained from enantioselective esterification of naproxen (2-(6-methoxy-2-naphthyl) propionic acid) by lipases. It was also used as a nucleophilic hydroxymethylation agent.

Applications
Le 1-triméthylsilylméthanol est utilisé comme nucléophile pour résoudre le racémate obtenu à partir de l’estérification énantiosélective du naproxène (l’acide 2-(6-méthoxy-2-naphtyl) propionique) par les lipases. Il a également été utilisé comme agent d’hydroxyméthylation nucléophile.
