Sulforhodamine B is a water-soluble, nonfixable red fluorescent (excitation/emission maxima ∼ 565/586 nm) polar tracer that can be used for investigating neuronal morphology, preparing fluorescent liposomes, studying cell-cell communications and following phagosome-lysosome uptake and fusion.
