Thermo Scientific Pierce SIA is a very short (1.5 angstrom) crosslinker for amine-to-sulfhydryl conjugation via N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester and iodoacetyl reactive groups.

Features of SIA:

Reactive groups: NHS ester and iodoacetyl
Reactive toward: amino and sulfhydryl groups
• Shortest sulfhydryl-reactive and amine-reactive heterobifunctional crosslinker available; compare to SIAB
• NHS ester reacts with primary amines at pH 7-9 to form a stable amide bond
• Iodoacetyl group reacts with sulfhydryl groups at pH > 7.5 to form stable thioether bond
• Non-cleavable
• Water-insoluble (dissolve first in DMF or DMSO)

Abstract
A central role for the T1 domain in voltage-gated potassium channel formation and function.
Authors:Strang C, Cushman SJ, DeRubeis D, Peterson D, Pfaffinger PJ
Journal:J Biol Chem
PubMed ID:11312262
To interpret the recent atomic structures of the Kv (voltage-dependent potassium) channel T1 domain in a functional context, we must understand both how the T1 domain is integrated into the full-length functional channel protein and what functional roles the T1 domain governs. The T1 domain clearly plays a role in ... More
Formation of protein tyrosine ortho-semiquinone radical and nitrotyrosine from cytochrome c-derived tyrosyl radical.

Journal:J Biol Chem
PubMed ID:14761966
Oxidative alteration of mitochondrial cytochrome c (cyt c) has been linked to disease pathophysiology and is one of the causative factors for pro-apoptotic events. Hydrogen peroxide induces a short-lived cyt c-derived tyrosyl radical as detected by the electron spin resonance (ESR) spin-trapping technique. This investigation was undertaken to characterize the ... More
