Western blot analysis was performed on whole cell extracts (30 µg lysate) of HeLa (Lane 1), T-47D (Lane 2), MDA-MB-231 (Lane 3), A549 (Lane 4), MKN45 (Lane 5) and U-2 OS (Lane 6). The blot was probed with Anti-eIF4B Recombinant Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (Product # 702863, 1:500 dilution) and detected by chemiluminescence using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG (Heavy Chain) Superclonal™ Secondary Antibody, HRP conjugate (Product # A27036, 1:5000 dilution). A ~75 kDa band corresponding to eIF4B was observed across the cell lines tested.

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning in the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Then, individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production. The advantages of using recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies include: better specificity and sensitivity, lot-to-lot consistency, animal origin-free formulations, and broader immunoreactivity to diverse targets due to larger rabbit immune repertoire.
Target Information
The eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4B (eIF4B) plays a critical role in recruiting the 40S ribosomal subunit to the mRNA. It functions in close association with eIF4F and eIF4A. It binds near the 5'-terminal cap of mRNA in the presence of eIF4F and ATP. It promotes the ATPase activity and the ATP-dependent RNA unwinding activity of both eIF4A and eIF4F.
