Immunofluorescent analysis of C9orf72 in DIV9 rat E18 primary hippocampal neuron cells. Cells were fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde at RT for 15 min. Green: C9orf72 stained by C9orf72 monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-46910) diluted at 1:250. Red: Tau, an Axon marker, stained by Tau antibody diluted at 1:500. Blue: Fluoroshield with DAPI.

Target Information
C9orf72 may play a role in endosomal trafficking and autophagy. It is known to interact with HNRNPA1, HNRNPA2B1, UBQLN2, and small Rab GTPSases. C9orf72 localizes in the nucleus, cytoplasm, endosome, lysosome, and autophagosome. Mutations in this gene can result in frontotemporal dementia and/or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
