LOX Antibody (PA1-16989) in ICC/IF
Immunocytochemistry analysis of LOX in HepG2 cells. Samples were incubated with LOX polyclonal antibody (Product # PA1-16989) using a dilution of 5 µg/mL overnight at 4°C followed by anti-rabbit Dylight 488 (Green) at a dilution of 1:500. Cells were fixed for 10 minutes using 10% formalin and then permeabilized for 5 minutes using 1X PBS + 0.05% Triton-X100. Nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (Blue). Cells were imaged using a 40X objective.

This is a highly glycosylated protein and can exhibit bands at ~32 kDa, ~50 kDa and ~58 kDa representing the mature (secreted) form, the pro form and the glycosylated forms, respectively.
Suggested positive control: MC3T3-E1 lysate.
Target Information
Lysyl oxidase (LOX), a copper-containing amine oxidase, belongs to a heterogeneous family of enzymes that oxidize primary amine substrates to reactive aldehydes. It plays a vital role in the formation and repair of the extra cellular matrix. As well, LOX is a multifunctional enzyme having diverse biological functions such as developmental regulation, tumor suppression, cell motility and cellular senescence. The secreted form of LOX is responsible for the invasive properties of hypoxic human cancer cells. Thus, it is essential for hypoxia-induced metastasis and is a good therapeutic target for preventing and treating metastases.
