Western blot analysis of CK2 alpha-1 in extracts of various cell lines. Samples were incubated with CK2 alpha-1 Polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-120551) using a dilution of 1:1,000, followed by HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) at a dilution of 1:10,000. Lysates/proteins: 25 µg per lane. Blocking buffer: 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST. Detection: ECL Basic Kit. Exposure time: 10s.

Target Information
CSNK2A1 is a serine/threonine protein kinase that phosphorylates acidic proteins. The kinase exists as a tetramer and is composed of an alpha, an alpha-prime, and two beta subunits. The alpha subunits contain the catalytic activity while the beta subunits undergo autophosphorylation. The protein encoded by CK2 alpha-1 represents the alpha subunit. While CK2 alpha-1 is found on chromosome 20, a related transcribed pseudogene is found on chromosome 11. Three transcript variants encoding two different proteins have been found for CK2 alpha-1.
