Product Specific Information
The Human IL-12 Standard is calibrated against NIBSC human IL-12 Reference Standard lot #95/544. 1 Thermo pg = 1.66 NIBSC pg = 0.0166 NIBSC unit.
Lyophilized product is shipped on cold packs. Stable until expiration if stored desiccated at -20°C. Reconstituted cytokine standards should be stored in aliquots at -70°C. Each aliquot should be used only once and discarded afterwards. Stability of reconstituted and frozen cytokine standards may vary. Controls should be run with each standard curve.
Sufficient For: ELISA standard curve with replicates or as a control in Western blots.
1500 pg/ml when reconstituted at the recommend volume
Reconstitute with distilled water at volume indicated on label. Use or freeze product within 1 hour of reconstitution.
Target Information
IL-12 p70, also known as interleukin-12, is a cytokine that plays a critical role in the immune system's response to infections and cancer. It is produced by immune cells, including dendritic cells, macrophages, and B cells, in response to certain pathogens and tumor cells. IL-12 p70 stimulates the production of interferon-gamma and other cytokines, which promote the activation and proliferation of T cells and natural killer cells. IL-12 p70 has been studied as a potential therapeutic target for various diseases and conditions, including infectious diseases, autoimmune disorders, and cancer. It has been shown to enhance immune responses against certain infections and tumors, and to modulate inflammatory responses in autoimmune diseases.
