RP-77525 is native Cathepsin G protein from human neutrophils. Purified from whole human blood shown to be non-reactive for HbsAG, anti-HCV, andit-HBc, and negative for anti-HIV1&2 by FDA approved tests.
RP-77525 may be used as a control with corresponding anti-Cathepsin G antibodies.
RP-77525 displays a specific activity of ~ 3000 mU/mg. One unit is defined as 1 umole of p-nitroanilide released per minute from 1 mM Suc-Ala-Ala-Pro-Phe-pNA in 100 mM Tris pH 7.5, 50 mM NaCL at 25 degrees C. The enzyme is about 90% active as tested by titration with alpha1-antichymotrypsin.
RP-77525 is inhibited by chymostatin, DFP and Z-Phe-CH2Br.
Cathepsin G is a serine protease found in azurophilic granules of neutrophils involved in phagocytic lysis of engulfed forein particles. It is also involved in NK cell cytotoxicity.
