LXR-b (Liver X Receptor beta) ligand binding domain is a 57.6 kDa recombinant human protein (amino acids 243-461) expressed as a GST fusion protein in baculovirus-infected insect cells. LXR beta was expressed and purified in the absence of exogenous ligands, making it ideal for ligand binding and coregulator displacement studies.

Target Information
The liver X receptors, LXRA and LXRB, form a subfamily of the nuclear receptor superfamily and are key regulators of macrophage function, controlling transcriptional programs involved in lipid homeostasis and inflammation. The inducible LXRA is highly expressed in liver, adrenal gland, intestine, adipose tissue, macrophages, lung, and kidney, whereas LXRB is ubiquitously expressed. Ligand-activated LXRs form obligate heterodimers with retinoid X receptors and regulate expression of target genes containing LXR response elements.
