This peptide corresponds to 16 amino acids near the carboxy terminus of human TTBK1.
PEP-0802 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20686.
TTBK1 is a member of the casein kinase 1 superfamily, and it functions as a neuron-specific serine/threonine and tyrosine kinase. Its primary role is to regulate the phosphorylation of tau, a protein that stabilizes microtubule assemblies. It has been found that genetic variants in this gene are linked to Alzheimer's disease. Additionally, TTBK1 is associated with several other diseases, including Childhood-Onset Schizophrenia and Spinocerebellar Ataxia 11.
