Target Information

KVbeta1.2 is a specific isoform of the beta subunit encoded by the KCNAB1 gene, which is part of the voltage-gated potassium (KV) channel family. These beta subunits modulate the properties and functions of the alpha subunits of KV channels, which are critical for regulating the electrical excitability of cells. KVbeta1.2 is a critical modulator of KV channel function, playing a key role in the regulation of electrical excitability in neurons and cardiac cells. Its proper function is essential for maintaining normal physiological processes, and its dysregulation can lead to significant clinical consequences.
