SHANK1 Antibody (MA5-27626) in IHC (P)
Immunohistochemistry analysis of SHANK1 in paraffin-embedded mouse back skin. Samples were incubated with SHANK1 monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-27626) using a dilution of 1:100 (1 hour at RT) and followed by FITC Goat Anti-Rabbit (green) at a dilution of 1:50 (1 hour at RT).

1 µg/mL of MA5-27626 was sufficient for detection of Shank1 in 10 µg of rat brain lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.|Detects approximately 190-220 kDa (alternative splice variants). No cross-reactivity against Shank2 or Shank3.
Target Information
Seems to be an adapter protein in the postsynaptic density (PSD) of excitatory synapses that interconnects receptors of the postsynaptic membrane including NMDA-type and metabotropic glutamate receptors via complexes with GKAP/PSD-95 and Homer, respectively, and the actin-based cytoskeleton. May play a role in the structural and functional organization of the dendritic spine and synaptic junction.
