          NMDAR1 Antibody (MA5-45563) in ICC/IF

          Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence analysis using human neuroblastoma cells. Fixation involved 4% Formaldehyde for 15 min at RT. Samples were incubated with Phospho-NMDAR1 (Ser897) monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-45563) at 1:100 for 60 min at RT, followed by Goat Anti-Mouse ATTO 488 at 1:100 for 60 min at RT. Counterstain used was Phalloidin Texas Red F-Actin stain; DAPI (blue) nuclear stain at 1:1,000, 1:5,000 for 60 min RT, 5 min RT. Localization: Cell Membrane. Magnification: 60X.           Product Specific Information

          1 µg/mL of MA5-45563 was sufficient for detection of NR1 glutamate receptor in 20 µg of rat brain membrane lysate and assayed by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.|Detects approximately 105kDa.

          This antibody was formerly sold as clone S308-48.

          Target Information

          NMDAR1 encodes a protein that is a critical subunit of N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors, members of the glutamate receptor channel superfamily which are heteromeric protein complexes with multiple subunits arranged to form a ligand-gated ion channel. These subunits play a key role in the plasticity of synapses, which is believed to underlie memory and learning. Cell-specific factors are thought to control expression of different isoforms, possibly contributing to the functional diversity of the subunits. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
