We Told AIBioTech to “Run Ion Chef Into the Ground”. Here’s How It Turned Out

When we set out to conduct #LabChat sessions with real researchers, we wanted to get candid feedback on just how things are going in the lab. We captured just that when AIBioTech’s Katherine O’Hanlon sat down with us to talk about the challenges of scaling up at a contract research facility (CRO) for next-gen sequencing, and also shared her first impressions on the automated template prep system, the Ion Chef ™ instrument . The good news: the Ion Chef has reduced sample turnaround time in their lab by 24 hours and allowed them to scale up sample throughput. The bad news: they only have one Ion Chef right now. We’re working on getting another to you as soon as possible, Katie! Hang in there.
