Imagine a day, where you could ask protein expression experts your specific protocol questions to accelerate your research…
Imagine no more because it’s that time of the year again! In May 2016, Thermo Fisher Scientific demonstrated its commitment to the scientific community by hosting Gibco ExpressionWorld, a virtual conference that reached an impressive number of researchers worldwide. The conference, which focused primarily on protein expression, provided an innovative and convenient platform for scientists to communicate their discoveries from the comfort of their office or laboratory, thus eliminating any burden imposed by travel expenditures. More than 1200 scientists from over 40 countries participated in 2016 ExpressionWorld and we anticipate an even bigger 2017 ExpressionWorld event.
Last year, researchers around the globe tuned in to listen to exciting talks that covered a range of topics, including an investigation of how mutations within LRRK2 influence Parkinson’s disease outcomes and a presentation on how the ExpiCHO™ Transient Expression System is redefining how pharmaceutical companies develop lifesaving drugs. The 2017 ExpressionWorld event will offer an even greater number of exciting presentations. As in 2016, this year’s speakers hail from prestigious institutions noted for high-impact research. For example, Dr. Gabriel Ozorowski, Staff Scientist at The Scripps Research Institute, will share his recent efforts to develop an HIV vaccine based on the current understanding of the mechanism of broadly neutralizing HIV antibodies.

During 2016 ExpressionWorld, Dr. Jon Zmuda presented data that demonstrated the superior performance that can be expected from the ExpiCHO Expression System. ExpiCHO titers range from 25–160 times those of FreeStyle CHO, and 2 – 4 times those obtained using the Expi293 system.
Conferences are an ideal breeding ground for scientific collaboration and networking. Thus, we understood that it is critical to incorporate all the features necessary to minimize communication barriers between ExpressionWorld attendees. Participants are given an opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions after each presentation. In addition, there will be other opportunities to converse with fellow attendees. For instance, there will be several discussion forums, each of which will focus on a particular topic (e.g., difficult-to-express proteins, purification methods, etc.). This is an excellent occasion for scientists to help one another troubleshoot any potential issues they are experiencing. The 2017 ExpressionWorld Conference will also include a virtual exhibition hall, which will be an opportune time for participants to network with one another and access resources and literature on the latest technologies to support their research.
As you can see, there are many reasons to attend the 2017 ExpressionWorld event, including:
- Watch leading researchers share their latest scientific discoveries from the comfort of your office or laboratory
- Network with scientists around the world who could be your next collaborator
- Attend the Q&A sessions after each presentation to get help troubleshooting technical challenges
- Participate in an interactive training session and receive certification
- Attendees receive exclusive discounts not available elsewhere
Don’t miss this exciting opportunity! Register for 2017 ExpressionWorld!
