Next week, we’ll be rubbing elbows with thousands of researchers in Baltimore at the 2015 annual meeting of the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG 2015). The meeting kicks off on Tuesday, October 6th and we have a busy week planned for attendees, starting with the exhibit hall opening on October 7th at 9 a.m. Thermo Fisher Scientific will be highlighting our latest products and innovations at booth #1415, including the Ion S5 NGS System and the QuantStudio 3 Real-Time PCR System. Our theme for the meeting is “Genetic Solutions for All”, and we will be highlighting the compatibility of our genetic analysis solutions to provide researchers with the solutions needed to obtain meaningful results.
Lean Back. Lunch Will Be On Us.
We are hosting a lunch seminar on Wednesday, October 7th from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in meeting room 347, at the Baltimore Convention Center. The seminar will feature our customers discussing the latest technologies, such as the new Ion S5 systems, new inherited disease research panels featuring Ion AmpliSeq technology, and the new QuantStudio 3 Real-Time PCR System that are propelling translational research forward. If last year’s turnout is any indication, you will definitely want to reserve your seat ahead of time for this seminar. Here’s a quick preview of the line-up:
From single genes to panels: Ion Torrent and Applied Biosystems innovations for clinical research. Presented by Andy Felton, Ph.D., Vice President of Product Management at Thermo Fisher Scientific.
Ion AmpliSeq based gene panels – the Saudi Mendeliome Group experience. Presented by Majed J. Dasouki, M.D., DABMG, the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center, Saudi Arabia.
Sequencing applications in human genetics research using the Ion S5 XL system. Presented by Adam Ameur, Ph.D., Uppsala Genome Centre, Sweden
Role of miR-223 in multiple sclerosis and its animal model. Presented by Claudia Cantoni, Ph.D., Washington University, St. Louis, Mo.
Happy Hour in the Hall
On Wednesday evening during the ASHG Opening Reception in the exhibit hall from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thermo Fisher Scientific will be hosting special refreshments at our booth #1415 to celebrate our latest innovations. We will also have a fun, interactive game on the central monitors in our booth, where you can build your own lab and stock it with all of the latest and greatest gadgets.
