Claudia P.B. Martins, PhD

Claudia holds a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Coimbra in Portugal, where she first developed an interest in mass spectrometry while working on a methodology to analyze MDMA in hair samples during her undergraduate studies.

She later earned a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. During her doctoral research, she gained hands-on experience with a broad range of analytical instrumentation, including Ion Traps, Triple Quadrupoles, Time-of-Flight systems, and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance.

Claudia joined Thermo Fisher Scientific in October 2008 and held several Marketing and Sales Support roles across Europe. In 2015, she relocated to San Jose, California, to lead a global applications team supporting Environmental and Food Safety markets. Then in 2016, she joined the Life Sciences Mass Spectrometry Product Management organization, where she led multiple successful product introductions, most notably the TSQ Plus product line and Stellar MS. Additionally, in 2022, Claudia completed her Executive MBA (EMBA) at UCLA. Most recently, in 2024, she transitioned into the Service organization to lead Product Management for Digital Solutions, with a primary focus on digital service management and connected solutions.
