Matthias Jaehrling

Senior Application Manager, Thermo Fisher Scientific

Matthias Jährling is a Senior Application Manager for Materials and Structural Analysis within Material Characterization at Thermo Fisher Scientific. He also manages the Material Characterization Process/Pharma laboratories and leads the Process/Pharma Application Group across Karlsruhe, Germany, and Tewksbury, MA USA. Matthias earned a Diploma in Chemical Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences Reutlingen and has more than 35 years of experience in materials characterization, polymer technology, materials testing, process instrumentation, and technical sales.

Matthias began his career as a scientific laboratory technician with Dow Chemical in Australia and later joined HAAKE Mess-Technik in Germany, progressing through technical and commercial roles in materials testing and polymer technology. Since joining Thermo Fisher Scientific (formerly Thermo Electron Corporation), Matthias has held leadership positions in technical sales, global application management, and laboratory operations. Since 2007, he has led the Material Characterization Process/Pharma laboratories and application teams, supporting customers worldwide with advanced analytical and characterization solutions across the pharmaceutical, chemical, and materials industries.
