Michał Kaczmarek is a metabolomics and mass spectrometry specialist at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where he combines analytical science, technology development, artificial intelligence, and scientific collaboration to advance mass spectrometry applications. He works with researchers, key opinion leaders, and cross-functional teams to translate emerging analytical capabilities into practical workflows for the global scientific community. At Thermo Fisher Scientific, Michał has contributed to the launch of Orbitrap mass spectrometry innovations, including the Orbitrap Excedion and Orbitrap Excedion Pro Mass Spectrometers, as well as the enhanced Dynamic Range scan mode. Previously, he established a metabolomics laboratory at the Blavatnik Center for Drug Discovery in Tel Aviv and worked as a forensic toxicologist. He has also published research in Chemosphere on the human health risks of environmental pollutants. Michał contributed to a World Economic Forum report on the role of artificial intelligence in healthcare and biotechnology. He holds a double MSc in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Tartu and Uppsala University, bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and forensic toxicology, and a Master of Management Science in Leadership and Global Affairs from Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University.
