Michelle Kramer, PhD, is a Staff Engineer in Single-Use Purification R&D at Thermo Fisher Scientific. She holds a PhD in Chemical and Process Engineering from the University of Canterbury and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University. Her engineering career spans biotechnology and medical technology, with experience in downstream bioprocessing, chromatography, filtration, and single-use technologies. At Thermo Fisher Scientific, Michelle specializes in single-use purification technologies and leads and contributes to application studies evaluating the DynaChromâ„¢ Single-Use Chromatography System, with a focus on scalability, system performance, and integrated downstream purification workflows for biopharmaceutical manufacturing.

Accomplishments

Michelle has authored and contributed to Thermo Fisher Scientific application notes and technical studies supporting the characterization and application of single-use chromatography technologies. Her work has been presented at the International Symposium on Preparative and Process Chromatography (PREP), and she develops and delivers technical training for field applications and other technical audiences.
