One Lambda Team Celebrates International Women’s Day
Happy International Women’s Day from One Lambda!
Occurring annually on March 8, International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global celebration of the social, cultural, economic, and political achievements of women. The day also serves as a call for gender parity.
In 2020, the theme for IWD is #EachforEqual, which draws on the idea that no person or organization alone can succeed at creating a gender equal world. The effort requires each of us to come together and work collectively to change our larger society.
This effort is important not only for women on the One Lambda team but also for the many women in STEM who face challenges in their career paths, for women advocates who serve the patient community, and for female transplant patients in need of better care.
To mark this special day, the LA Chapter of the Thermo Fisher Scientific Women’s Employee Resource Group (W-ERG LA) arranged a fun photoshoot for team members celebrating IWD. Some wore purple (the other most strongly associated with IWD) for the occasion; others made the “equal” sign to symbolize the importance of equality. Our leadership team also got in on the action with a group photo to voice their commitment to forging a world where women can thrive.
