Metanil Yellow is used as indicator. Metanil yellow is useful in spectrophotometric methods to determine the presence of trace amounts of nitrates and nitrites in solution. The method utilizes the fact that potassium bromate can catalyze the discoloring of Metanil yellow which can then be analyzed by spectrophotometry.

Anwendungen
Metanilgelb wird als Indikator verwendet. Metanilgelb ist in spektrophotometrischen Methoden nützlich, um das Vorhandensein von Spuren von Nitraten und Nitriten in Lösung zu bestimmen. Der Methode liegt zugrunde, dass Kaliumbromat die Verfärbung von Metanilgelb katalysieren kann, welche dann mittels Spektrophotometrie analysiert werden kann.

In Wasser löslich (25 g/l).

Hinweise
Von starken Oxidationsmitteln fernhalten. Behälter dicht verschlossen lassen. Kühl und trocken in einem gut versiegelten Behälter lagern.
