This CDK18/cyclin Y recombinant human protein (CDK18: full length, cyclin Y: 2–end) was expressed in insect cells. CDK18/cyclin Y serine/threonine kinase or cyclin-dependent kinase 18 belongs to the cdc2/cdkx subfamily of kinases. CDK18/cyclin Y is thought to play a role in terminally differentiated neurons and it contains an N-terminal extension relative to CDC2. CDK18/cyclin Y is expressed in a variety of human cell lines and tissues. Elevation in the protein levels of CDK18/cyclin Y in the temporal cortex of Alzheimer's disease relative to control brains has been observed. It is proposed that CDK18/cyclin Y is a paired helical filaments-associated kinase that modulates tau phosphorylation. CDK18/cyclin Y recombinant human protein is also available in our
