This CDK13/cyclin K recombinant human protein (CDK13: 656–1050, cyclin K 1–300) was expressed in insect cells. CDK13/cyclin K serine/threonine kinase is dimeric protein complex. CDK13 is a member of the cyclin-dependent serine/threonine protein kinase family. Members of this family are well known for their essential roles as master switches in cell cycle control. The exact function of this protein has not yet been determined, but it may play a role in mRNA processing and may be involved in regulation of hematopoiesis. Cyclin K is a member of the transcription cyclin family. These cyclins may regulate transcription through their association with and activation of cyclin-dependent kinases (CDK) that phosphorylate the C-terminal domain of the large subunit of RNA polymerase II. CDK13/cyclin K recombinant human protein is also available in our SelectScreen™ Kinase Profiling Service.
