The Ion Torrent GX7 Chip and Genexus Coupler includes two GX7 chips and two Genexus couplers, sufficient for two initializations of the Genexus Integrated Sequencer. The GX7 Chip generates 20–25 million sequencing reads per lane, or 80–100 million reads per chip. The four-lane chip design supports maximum flexibility for sample processing, enabling sequencing of one to four lanes per run, with the in-use stability to utilize any remaining lanes within two weeks of the initial run.

As part of the Genexus Integrated Sequencer workflow, the GX7 Chip:
• Achieves 20–25 million reads per lane for 200 base-read libraries
• Maximizes flexibility with the ability to utilize one to four chip lanes per run
• Enables parallel processing of up to four compatible assays in a single run
• Supports intake variability of clinical research samples

The Genexus Integrated Sequencer automates library preparation, sequencing, analysis, and reporting in a hands-off, walkaway workflow to deliver results in a single day. The innovative, multilane sequencing chip is designed to enable cost-effective processing of 1 to 32 single pool libraries.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

What data output sizes should I expect from the Ion Torrent GX7 Chip?

Typical sequencing output files include approximately 40 GB for uBAM files, 45 GB for BAM files, and 25 MB for VCF files. The Ion Torrent GX7 Chip generates approximately 20–25 million sequencing reads per lane for 200-base-read libraries, corresponding to approximately 80–100 million reads when all four lanes of the chip are used. Refer to the relevant Genexus Software User Guide for full details on temporary and intermediate files.

What reagents and supplies are needed with the Ion Torrent GX7 Chip and Genexus Coupler?

The Ion Torrent GX7 Chip and Genexus Coupler (Cat. No. A46731) is compatible specifically with the Genexus Templating Strips 3-GX7 and 4 Kit (Cat. No. A46817). Refer to Ion Torrent Genexus GX7 Starter Pack-AS (Cat. No. A50222) for the full set of all core consumables required to run the Genexus Integrated Sequencer with the GX7 Chip and Genexus Coupler. However, note that quantity of Genexus consumables required depends on the assay and workflow so refer to the applicable assay or Genexus user guide for the complete materials list.
