Demonstrate sequential development of germ tubes and chlamydospores by Candida albicans with Thermo Scientific™ Remel™ RIOT Agar (Rice Infusion, Oxgall, Polysorbate 80). In 1968, Fischer et al. modified rice infusion agar of Taschdian by adding 2% oxgall to the medium1. In 1975, Beheshti et al. formulated a medium containing rice infusion, oxgall and polysorbate 80 for sequential development of germ tubes and chlamydospores, based on the formulas of Taschdjian and Fischer2. This medium was called RIOT Agar.
