Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (40%), Rat (40%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-59814. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
The C19orf48 gene, located on chromosome 19q13, encodes a protein involved in various biological processes, including its role as a minor histocompatibility antigen recognized by CD8+ T cells. This gene has been implicated in oncogenesis due to its elevated expression in certain cancer types, such as breast cancer, where it has been associated with poor prognosis. The non-synonymous single-nucleotide polymorphisms within C19orf48 contribute to differential T-cell recognition in donor and recipient cells, highlighting its significance in immune responses. Additionally, C19orf48 has been linked with SNORD88C, a small nucleolar RNA (snoRNA) that guides methylation of rRNA, further illustrating its involvement in cellular proliferation and metastasis.
