2-Furonitrile is used as a extractive distillation solvent and as a sweetening agent. It is also used as an intermediate in pharmaceutical and fine chemical synthesis. 2-Furonitrile was employed as substrate to investigate the substrate specificity of nitrilase from Rhodococcus rhodochrous Jl cell.

2-Furonitril wird als extraktive Destillationslösung und als Süßungsmittel verwendet. Es wird auch als Zwischenprodukt in der pharmazeutischen und feinchemischen Synthese verwendet. 2-Furonitril wurde als Substrat eingesetzt, um die Substratspezifität der Nitrilase aus der Rhodococcus rhodochrous Jl-Zelle zu untersuchen.

Löslich in den meisten gängigen organischen Lösungsmitteln. Schwer in Wasser löslich.

Kühl und trocken in einem gut versiegelten Behälter lagern. Von Oxidationsmitteln entfernt aufbewahren.
