Beschreibung
Benzyl 2,2,2-trichloroacetimidate is used for the acid-catalyzed benzylation of hydroxy groups. It acts as reagent during the synthesis of funiculosin dimethyl ether and (S)-3-(benzyloxy)-2-methylpropanal. It can also be used for mild esterification of carboxylic acids in the presence of a catalytic amount of BF3 etherate.

Anwendungen
Benzyl 2,2,2-trichloroacetimidat wird für die säurekatalysierte Benzylierung von Hydroxygruppen verwendet. Es wirkt als Reagenz bei der Synthese von Funiculosin-Dimethylether und (S)-3-(benzyloxy)-2-methylpropanal. Es kann auch zur milden Veresterung von Carbonsäuren in Gegenwart einer katalytischen Menge an BF3-Ätherat verwendet werden.
Löslichkeit
Mischbar mit Cyclohexan/Dichlormethan.
Hinweise
Feuchtigkeits- und lichtempfindlich. Nicht kompatibel mit starken Oxidationsmitteln und starken Säuren.
