Beschreibung
Ponceau S dye is used to make a stain for rapid reversible staining of protein bands on nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes (Western blots) and also for staining protein on cellulose acetate membranes. It is also suitable for electrophoresis, azo dye for reversible protein staining. This stain can also be used as a fiducial marker in mass spectrometric imaging.

Anwendungen
Der Farbstoff Ponceau S wird zur Herstellung eines Färbmittels für die schnelle reversible Färbung von Proteinbändern auf Nitrocellulose- oder PVDF-Membranen (Western Blots) und für die Färbung von Protein auf Celluloseacetat-Membranen verwendet. Er eignet sich zudem für die Elektrophorese, als Azofarbstoff für die reversible Proteinfärbung. Dieses Färbemittel kann auch als Referenzmarker bei der massenspektrometrischen Bildgebung verwendet werden.
Löslichkeit
Löslich in Wasser (10 g/l) bei 20 °C. Unlöslich im Äther.
Hinweise
Kühl lagern. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten. Von starken Oxidationsmitteln fernhalten.
