Pentamethyldisiloxane is used in the synthesis of siloxane-polyether copolymer surfactants. It is also used as source of trimethylsilyl functional group in organic synthesis.

Anwendungen
Pentamethyldisiloxan wird bei der Synthese von Siloxan-Polyether-Copolymertensiden verwendet. Es wird auch als Quelle für funktionelle Trimethylsilylgruppen in der organischen Synthese verwendet.

Nicht mischbar oder schwer in Wasser mischbar.

Sie ist empfindlich gegenüber Feuchtigkeit. Behälter an einem trockenen und gut belüfteten Ort dicht verschlossen halten. Unter trockenem Inertgas lagern. Nicht kompatibel mit Oxidationsmitteln.
