Reliably detect Li-ion battery outgassing with the Thermo Scientific™ TRACE™ 1610 Li-ion Battery Gas Analyzer, and get important information about possible deterioration and performance of different battery formulations.

Initial charge/discharge processes in batteries produce a variety of gas components that have an impact on battery performance after long-term use. Additionally, some flammable gases create a security risk. This multi-column, multi-valve gas chromatography solution offers a reliable tool for the analysis of gases causing lithium battery swelling.

Gas composition produced by batteries is highly complex. There are three categories:

  • Permanent gases such as hydrogen, methane, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide
  • Short-chain hydrocarbons (C2–C5)
  • Other volatile compounds

The GC analyzer is delivered fully tested and includes a complete documentation package with method, plumbing diagram, setup and troubleshooting guide, and spare parts and consumables list.

Data system and reporting package are not included but available as separate items.
