PSC Neural Induction Medium workflow
A simple protocol is used to initiate PSC induction to neural stem cells in only 7 days.
Neural induction workflow and timeline:
Day minus 1
- Prepare complete Neural Induction Medium
- Split and plate PSCs
Day 0
- Exchange medium for complete PSC Neural Induction Medium
Days 1–6
- Check cells, change medium every other day until cells reach 100% confluency
Day 7
- Harvest NSCs, proceed with disassociation
Cells are now ready for expansion and terminal neuronal differentiation.

NSCs derived from hPSCs were fixed and flabeled with antibodies against pluripotent marker Oct4, neural marker Nestin (red), Sox1 and Sox2 (green). Cell nuclei were stained with DAPI (blue). Quantitative analysis of the percentage of positive cells to Nestin, Sox1, and Sox2 shows 80–90% neural induction efficiency.
